The Oasis Shelter: A Community Filled With Warmth, Support, and Compassion!

Dear Oasis Team:

First, I want to say thank you so much for providing a safe space for my daughter and me while we transition into our new home.

My daughter, Melody, was unexpectedly born at just 23 weeks, and my life was completely turned upside down. Thankfully, UCS Hospital introduced me to Family House, where I was able to stay for several months until Melody was strong enough to come home. However, once she was released from the hospital, I found myself without stable housing. That’s when Family Services connected me with The Oasis and you truly became my knights in shining armor.

From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Tiffany Toliver. She immediately made me feel safe and at home, ensuring I had everything I needed diapers, wipes, clothes, and more. Tiffany has gone above and beyond to support me, from keeping me on track with finding housing and attending medical appointments to caring for my mental health. She even helped me with furniture and connected me to additional services that are helping me rebuild.

I also want to recognize Charles, who was always willing to lend a hand. He helped me carry my belongings upstairs, made sure Melody had what she needed, and consistently checked in to ensure we were okay. His kindness made me feel cared for and never afraid to ask for help.

The Oasis has given me a safe place to breathe, heal, and focus on the next steps for my daughter and me. I no longer had to worry about where I could safely park my car or if we’d face tickets for simply trying to survive. Instead, I found a community filled with warmth, support, and compassion.

I am deeply grateful to The Oasis and every staff member who made this experience such a blessing for me and my daughter. Thank you for providing not just shelter, but a true sense of home.

Sincerely,
A Very Grateful Guest
