Before coming to the Oasis Family Shelter, Miss. B. faced many challenges. She was in an abusive relationship and eventually realized that enough was enough. Determined to show her daughter a better way of life, she chose to leave behind the situation of “fake love.” Miss. B. and her child left in the middle of the night from Vallejo to come to San Francisco. Once she arrived in San Francisco, she and her daughter slept in her car until they were accepted into the Oasis Family Shelter.
Here is her testimonial-
“From deep in my heart and soul I want to thank you, Providence Foundation and also the St. Anthony Foundation, and everyone at the Oasis, especially the night/swing shift. Without all of you, I’m not sure where I would have ended up. You have provided me for almost 2 years a safe place to temporarily call home. My daughter got her first summer job and got to meet Mayor London Breed during our first summer in the Oasis. You all showed us what community love and togetherness really stand for. The love the staff gave was genuine and much appreciated. Especially during a hard time in life, all of the kindness mattered. You’ll always have a space in my heart for being present and caring and compassionate.
Ms. Tiff, thanks to everything you’ve pushed me to do and consistently checking on me and all the resources you told me about- from parking tickets to employment with IHS , credit repair, and all the apartment managers you recommended and Compass, I finally found an apartment!!!!! You’re the best. Your nurturing ways, confidence, and guidance helped me in many ways. Don’t ever, ever change!
I LOVE YOU! ❤️
